Dreaming about taking your vows in a tropical setting but haven’t the foggiest idea of how to plan a destination wedding on the beach? Don’t worry your pretty heads. We have some valuable tips to share with you and they should make things a lot easier on you. Pay close attention and you are going to be just fine – hosting a fabulous affair that your friends and family will talk about for years, under the bright sun and on the golden sand.

Decide what beach type you are: It’s important to start by knowing what kind of a wedding you have in mind. If it’s a big bash, you’ll need a beach that is able to offer better infrastructure, such as ample parking and restroom facilities, etc. Another factor worth considering is that the beach should be accessible to everybody and located closer to town.

On the other hand, if you decide to go with a small and intimate ceremony, you can afford to be less particular in the amenities you require. This gives you the luxury of going with almost any beach you want, such as a private cove or the far flung corner of a secluded beach. The choice is entirely up to you.

The time of the year you want to get married: When you decide to get married can have a huge impact on your budget. Prime season makes for a vibrant setting and the weather is absolutely gorgeous, no doubt; but it also brings with it hassles like huge crowds, more expensive hotels, and higher vendor rates. The off season is easier on the wallet, but the uncertain weather can throw a dampener on the celebrations.

A healthy compromise between both would be the shoulder season. You get to enjoy lower rates and you don’t have to worry about inclement weather either. On the flipside, you may not get a pick of too many hotels and vendors, since most seaside businesses tend to close down during this season.

Where you Plan to Stay: When you talk about how to plan a destination wedding, it’s also important to choose where you are going to stay. While hotels are convenient in that they offer planning services to those who do not have their own event manager, they do not offer the privacy a beach house can.

On the other hand, beach houses may be a more intimate and reasonable option, but you have to deal with your own chores, such as planning meals, washing dishes, cleaning rooms and bathrooms, and making beds. For those who are accustomed to convenience, hotels make for a better choice, as long as they are willing to cough up extra for these amenities, such as catering, decorations, and room service.

Ideally speaking, whatever accommodation you choose, it should be near the place hosting the wedding and reception. It saves everybody the hassle, not to mention the money, of having to hire transport to and from the venue.

Once you have ironed out these three essential details, you have learned most of how to plan a destination wedding and rest of everything will eventually fall into place.
